ONLINE LEARNING – IS IT OKAY FOR YOUNGER DEMOGRAPHICS?
Is online learning okay for the younger age group? With nearly everyone going online, it’s no surprise that schools for all ages are going online as well. It’s no surprise to see colleges springing up with no buildings but the main office and enrolling students for a completely online university. Many adults like online learning because it’s a way for them to fit a degree into their already crowded, maxed out schedules. Is online learning good for the younger generation, however?
Kindergarten through Middle School
It’s no surprise to see that online schools exist for this age group. Some children who love school have a hard time staying on a school’s schedule, and this can be great for the parent who can no longer drag their child out of bed. This is a good option if the child is self-dedicated and determined to make an online school work for them. If they aren’t, public school may well work better.
High School Online
Many teenagers like to complete high school online. Some teens can do school without the constant supervision of a teacher, and this alternative can give teens more flexibility and freedom in their day. Once again, if the teen is able to work independently, it’s a great way to allow them freedom. If a teenager cannot independently remember assignments, it may be wise to enroll them in non-online formatted public education.
